Process Innovation Challenge Europe

LocWorld34 Barcelona. 15 – 16 June 2017

Do you think your process is the best thing since wifi?

Have you re-purposed an old tool to achieve a solution to a new problem and have told but a few?

Are you an Innovator at heart but haven’t yet had a stage at LocWorld?

Are you willing to have your innovation judged by your peers?

…Then stop reading and submit your innovative process idea to the

Process Innovation Challenge!… PIC

The PIC is a new stage coming to Localization World Barcelona. Proposals will be reviewed; shortlisted candidates will present their process innovation to the audience and a panel of process experts and peers.

You will literally have a few minutes on stage to get your innovative process idea across and convince the audience why your idea should win the Process Innovation Challenge. Then the fun starts as the process panel and the audience get to ask questions. If your idea is innovative enough you get to present again in the final round on day two and a chance to win the coveted LocWorld Process Innovator award.

There are nuggets of l10n process knowledge buried in the heads of many of our industry colleagues which could be very useful to share. Why re-invent the wheel when you can borrow a bike from an industry peer. This platform provides an opportunity to share ideas both big and small.

What can I win?

The Process Innovation challenge winner will be the LocWorld Process Innovator for Europe 2017 and will receive a trophy and appropriate prizeware reflecting the challenge.

How can I participate?

There is no limit on the subject matter but the innovation should show process improvement or disruption. Maybe you solved something in a simple but out of the box way, maybe you applied an old approach to a new problem. Either way you decide, and you decide how you present it – you will have 5 minutes on stage so it needs to be innovative, and remember, innovation can be SIMPLE!

You can be as innovative as you like including how you submit your proposal, video, PDF or Office document.

Some topics to give food for thought:

  • Streamlined continuous delivery workflows
  • Innovative quality control
  • Innovative approach to localization planning
  • Innovative management techniques of multimedia components
  • Disintermediation
  • Business case innovation
  • Changing role of PM due to workflow automation
  • How you improved productivity and won friends
    – once it’s innovative and applicable then great!

Process Innovation in our industry knows no bounds – we impact all organizational departments – so feel free to give us your suggestions.
