In just 6 weeks, the (native-Californian) leading social platform for athletes, Strava built a brand-new Localization Department to support an acquisition. They launched a modern technology stack, integrated the selected TMS with 18 content repositories, selected the MT/AI partner for AI-driven translation workflows, and onboarded the LSP for MTPE tasks. Despite the app’s lack of internationalization, Strava ran parallel I18N and L10N efforts, localizing over 2 million words into 7 languages. Strategic prioritization from both companies’ leadership, rapid partner alignment, and expert guidance from the selected L10N consultant delivered enterprise-grade localization to the Strava community at unprecedented speed and scale.
Key Takeaways:
- AI-driven localization at scale is possible in weeks, not months — we’ll show you how.
- Localization team management – how to be a symphony conductor rather than a cat-herder.
- Real-world insights from global fitness app leader, Strava on balancing automation with human expertise to enhance customer engagement.
