Previous attendees will tell you this workshop is all about value and practical advice. Our San Jose 2022 edition will deliver that again! During this workshop, we will share how to set up localization from scratch if you had it your way. Instead of hearing “this is your budget, make it work!”, how do you get to “how much do you need? Tell us what we will get for this?”

Attendees and panelists will share ideas based on the following questions:

  • How do I set up my team?
  • How do I convince people that this is the right model?
  • How do I get funding without begging?
  • How do I prove the return on investment (ROI)?

Questions and topics that will be discussed:

  • How to get buy-in and recognition? How do you move from cost center to revenue contributor and stop being the Cinderella of this industry?
  • Setting up from scratch: ideas/successes/challenges, not prescribing a template.
  • How do you work with stakeholders? Who owns what content? Who has international release responsibility?
  • What are the boundaries of our discipline? Does it offer limitations and opportunities?
  • Calculating and attributing ROI.
  • Reporting metrics: operational and international business metrics, generating and access.
  • Evangelizing to whom? Who is the SOI?

Takeaways: Attendees will have a rare chance to hear how the localization leaders at various organizations think about localization. How they build their roadmaps and processes, what they prioritize and what they measure, what technology they implement at what part of the journey, how they build their teams for the long term, and how they go about building a business case for localization from scratch, or how they inherited and are running localization at various levels of localization maturity.
