VMware is moving to agile development for global cloud-based products and services. Their globalization team is gradually building a scalable localization technology solution to meet this challenge and align with the company’s strategic direction. In this session we will share the roadmap for their localization technology — where they started a few years ago, where they are now and the goals for the next few years. The system will eventually integrate and include various enterprise data and content management tools, a web-based translation management system and tools for project, cost, quality, resource and vendor management, machine translation and business intelligence.

Takeaways: Global enterprise cloud-based products and services demand mature localization processes. Many localization processes and tools need to be automated and integrated to meet the challenge. Building and expanding the end-to-end localization technology ecosystem for the global content round trip is key.
