Experiencing Neural MT Specialization and Quality Assessment Evaluation within a German Manufacturer
Track: TAUS | TS5 |
Friday, June 16, 2017, 9:00am – 9:45am
Held in: Room A
Pierre Bernassau - SYSTRAN
Heidi Depraetere - CrossLang
Host: Jaap van der Meer

New neural machine translation (MT) technologies disrupt the way MT engines are adapted to specific customers or projects. As the first MT software provider to integrate this new technology, SYSTRAN has changed its customization methodology to leverage customer data (documents, corpus, dictionaries, memories) and specialize new neural MT engines for specific customers. In this session, we will share results obtained from one customer in Germany, and CrossLang — a third-party agency — will present their corresponding quality evaluation assessment.

Takeaways: Attendees will learn about the benefits and constraints from new neural MT technologies; learn about translation quality assessment performed by an independent company; and hear details of a business case within a large German manufacturer.
