When building a global product, there’s always the question of “how local is local enough?” We tend to focus on the logistic and business aspects of going global, but in presenting this case study we want to share tools to bring the user experience (UX) to the center of product development, to ensure we meet our user’s local practices and expectations when we launch in their country. We’ll cover our design thinking process from the first discovery research done in Latin America, to improving the product for a specific country and the ongoing support and community-building activities we do after releasing it.

Takeaways: Attendees will get tips to ensure a user-centered product design for the global and local aspects of a software development process; a deeper view on how cultural awareness affects user interface and product decisions; and how international UX specialists can positively influence the business strategy when entering a new market.
