Does neural machine translation (NMT) work for a complex language like Polish? Yes, it does! In this case study, a leading Polish language service provider (LSP) will introduce how it integrated NMT engines into its translation workflow. A Northern Europe-based LSP will reveal how the engines were developed for Polish and customized for the legal domain. The presenters will discuss the challenges of NMT for highly inflected languages; the steps for testing, quality evaluation and integration; and the resulting data on how the NMT engines optimized post-editing and boosted productivity, helping to increase translation volumes for Polish.
Takeaways: Attendees will learn about the multidimensional approach to MT deployment in the business environment, get knowledge about specific technology problem-and-solution cases in highly inflected languages, and hear valuable practical tips about a pioneering endeavor combining language and technology.
