Teams that manage global content delivery face unique challenges every day, whether on the client or vendor side. These teams by nature are already diverse and dispersed across functions, geographies, and cultures. While the rest of the world is recognizing that the future of work is hybrid, even within the localization industry, the hybrid model brings new challenges. Leaders and managers must be intentional about defining the mindset, practices, tools, and data they will use to succeed. What are the strategies for managing effective hybrid teams? How do you empower and engage, and avoid distance bias or barriers? We will share different scenarios from product-led localization departments, mergers and acquisitions of new companies, corporate reorganizations of functional teams, and more.
Takeaways: Attendees will learn that localization teams already tend to be diverse and dispersed, so when teams add the hybrid factor, managers need to pay special attention to team dynamics; managers need to enable streamlined communication between team members and stakeholders; and communication between team members, including the manager, grows in importance as more team members work remotely.
