Many women in the localization industry complain that they can’t grow further or switch their careers to other related industries. This is not necessarily true, as illustrated by a woman who has switched careers from technical writing lead, localization vendor manager, marketing communication manager, lead content strategist and operation lead to manage finance, procurement, and internal and external communication of a business unit of over 300 employees. In this session, we will summarize the core skill sets to fulfill career development in localization related industries such as marketing and communication, and user experience. We will also show a Women in Localization video of successful women leaders during this presentation.
Takeaways: Attendees will learn about career choices for women in the localization industry; hear tips for achieving success in localization and the related industries; and get a different understanding of localization from other industry professionals.
