Localization is the practice of growing a global audience by adapting a product experience so that it is linguistically-relevant, culturally-appropriate, legally-compliant, and globally-scalable. However sometimes this is not enough, and companies need to do more and go beyond localization. This is what Airbnb has done in some selected regions, including South Africa and Kenya. In this session, we will explain how Airbnb, through local partnerships, and going beyond localization, helped local hosts overcome barriers and become successful.
