How to Prepare Files for the Translation Process

This half-day workshop presents some choice topics from the one-week intensive course on technical project management/language engineering by the Localization Institute. Participants will go on a journey through different file formats and their intricacies when preparing them for use with translation tools. We will also show some useful regular expressions to change placeholder text into tags. We will cover Excel (with content in HTML or containing placeholders), some XML and a few helpful regular expressions for use in the quality assurance feature of your translation tool. Please bring your laptop to work along with the sample files provided by the instructor.
