This roundtable will be an interactive working session driven by attendee input, challenges, and use cases, which we will collect and structure up front. This year’s terminology roundtable has a focus on terminology management in a corporate localization department. We will be working on this topic from two perspectives: the practical use of terminology in localization and the inherent conflict of speed vs. cost vs. quality, then the question of how to push consistent and correct terminology upstream to content creators and product developers.
Takeaways: Attendees will learn how to balance terminology quality with localization speed and process agility; how to use terminology to avoid localization bugs; how to determine if terminology assets are clean; how to prove there is a terminology problem in the source and/or the target; how to get other departments’ buy-in into terminology; and how to get colleagues to validate terminology in the source.
Target audience: Localization teams in corporate environments or language service providers servicing these, quality managers, project managers, and of course terminologists.
