The Source Language Changes: No Problem! or Oh My!

In the non-English speaking parts of the world, it’s becoming increasingly common for global companies to switch from creating their information in their native (local) language to English. This, of course, has important implications for many aspects of information design and translation, and especially so if you have a long history of working with clients from an information service provider perspective and bilingual TMs are growing cumbersome. In this session, we will present a case study on how we’ve successfully supported one of our clients from technical editorial work to translation, in changing their source language, and sharing a trick or two used in optimizing both budget and time.

Takeaways: Attendees will learn what to consider when a client takes this step together with their service provider and what tricks there are to reuse as much existing content as possible.
