A localization industry veteran, Gilbert Segura first started working with knowledge management in the 1990’s while at Dell. He then went on to help lead Dell’s first centralized globalization team, managing the technology and finances for millions of words, dollars and global customers. After Dell, Gilbert went to Lionbridge to learn bill of materials management, then to Amazon to work on content management system/translation management system transformation and localization. While in Seattle, Gilbert also worked with Jonckers for several years before trying out Silicon Valley (and finding out he didn’t like it too much). Now in Annapolis, Gilbert works with Compass Languages and Global eLearning as the CTO in charge of digital transformation and automation of multimedia, automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech and neural machine translation processes. The rapid pace of machine learning advancements for natural language processing and natural language understanding technologies is transforming how we communicate and how systems are designed and work together.
