Miquel Esplà-Gomis is a post-doctoral researcher at the Universitat d’Alacant in Spain. He obtained his PhD in computer science in 2016, but has been working on translation technologies for the past ten years. A relevant part of Miguel’s research is focused on parallel data collection and processing, and he is one of the main developers of Bitextor, a free and open source tool for mining parallel data from the internet. Miquel has been involved in several international projects related to translation technologies and, at the moment, he works on two projects that use the tool Bitextor intensively: ParaCrawl and GoURMET.
