Youyi Huang is a member of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference, vice president of Translators Association of China and serves on various other translation committees. As a senior translator/interpreter and editor, Huang has translated an extensive range of books about history, education, economy, politics, travel and literature, mostly from Chinese into English. He has helped to finalize a large amount of Chinese-English translation works, the most recent of which is Xi Jinping on Governance of China. Youyi was the first Chinese citizen serving as vice president of the Federation of International Translators. In recognition of his remarkable contribution to FIT and the translation and interpreting profession in general, he was awarded FIT Golden Pin in July 2011.
