Unicode is the universal character set used all over the world. However, Zawgyi is widely used in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and it will continue to be used into the future. Smartphones have to support both Unicode and Zawgyi. It brings several challenges to process the two character sets at the same time. In this session we will describe the challenges about the character set conversion between Unicode and Zawgyi, the automatic spelling correction, the character set detection and applying the technologies to products.
