As senior scientist at the University of Vienna Centre for Translation Studies, Alina Secară investigates accessibility practices and technologies, and teaches subtitling, captioning, and multimedia localization processes and technologies. A United Kingdom (UK) Stagetext accredited theater captioner, she has worked with theaters across the UK to integrate captioning for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, and provided customized hands-on training in subtitling and captioning to European Union and United Nations in-house linguists.
