Masaru Yamada is a translation studies scholar and educator whose career encompasses IT localization management and industrial consulting. As a professor at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, he leads pioneering research on AI-enhanced multilingual communication and mentors students in advanced translation technologies. As CEO of Translation Lab Inc., in partnership with Yaraku Inc., he forges industry–academic collaborations. A former board member of the Japan Association of Interpreting and Translation Studies (JAITS) and the Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation (AAMT), he offers empirical expertise in translation processes, CAT tools, MTPE, GenAI, and the application of machine translation in language education.
