The Attracting and Developing Talent initiative continues its efforts to work on solutions to the challenges of attracting and educating professionally trained staff in the localization industry to confront the talent shortage. Meetings in 2016 brought together academics, clients and recruiters to understand the needs of each other and match academic curricula to industry needs. Meetings at LocWorld Barcelona and LocWorld Silicon Valley in 2017 will focus on how to improve the visibility of the localization industry and its career opportunities. The meetings will bring together educators, marketing and public relations people, and industry leaders to develop steps to increase the attractiveness of localization careers.
