The focus on the cloud puts increasing pressure on language services to meet the ever-growing needs and expectations of IT companies and their customers communicating in dozens, if not hundreds of languages. The result will be an increasing need for faster deliveries of translations. In the process, it will require fundamental changes not only of core development practices, but also in how language services and their suppliers work to cope with the increasing number of micro-volume projects with short turnarounds. SAP Language Services has embarked on this route and will share insights into challenges, risks and steps taken and still to take.
