Communities are about people, specifically volunteers who believe in the cause and come together combining their efforts for the common good. Understanding and managing communities is not all sunshine and roses but when done right it offers its members a great community experience. A successful community manager needs to wear many hats: leader, moderator, advocate, mediator, analyst, friend and many more. As our communities evolve, we must expect new standards and norms to emerge. With their myriad of interdependencies, variable standards and complex datasets, these are notoriously difficult to codify. During this session our panelists will discuss governance, expectations, benefits and psychology for the community members.
