The Asian languages have been considered less compatible with machine translation (MT) while the use of MT in European languages has become practical for several years. Recently, the emergence of neural machine translation has shed some light on those languages that have not seemed to be doing well with MT, but is that really true? Have other options already lost the battle? What are some of the tips and tricks to make MT more successful in Asian languages?
