Recently, neural approaches have delivered a quantum jump in the quality of machine translation and made it a viable option for many applications with a high quality bar. We will briefly introduce neural machine translation (NMT) and the Google translation model. We will discuss performance improvements compared to the phrase-based method and will also delve into how NMT is used within Google for localization. What advantages does Google Translate provide? Is it good enough for localization?
