Faiza Sultan was born in the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. Due to Saddam Hussein’s cruel dictatorship, she was forced to depart Iraq in 1996. Faiza now lives in California and works as the senior localization quality manager for the Amazon Web Services training and certification team. She is the publisher of Darsafi and the founder of Translation 4all, Inc. Faiza was a director of the American Translators Association where she founded and administrated the Arabic division. She is a published poet with two books under her belt. Faiza was featured in The Language of War, a documentary about interpreters in Iraq.
