Ugo Ellefsen holds an honors BA in translation from Concordia University and an MA in audiovisual translation from Roehampton University in London. He has worked as a translator and translation project manager in Quebec, and as a localizer and editor on video game translation projects in the UK and Canada. Ugo’s master’s thesis on the subject of video games was published in The Journal of Internationalization and Localization. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the interdisciplinary humanities program at Concordia University, and his research project focuses on videogame localization and the impact of translation on user experience. Ugo has been a lecturer at Concordia University since 2018, where he teaches translation, and at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Continuing Education since 2021, where he teaches videogame localization.
