Zak Haitkin graduated from Humboldt State University in Northern California in 2010 with bachelor’s degrees in Spanish language and international studies with an emphasis in Latin America. He is a nonnative, fluent Spanish speaker and has a fiery passion for language learning and linguistics. Zak began his journey as a driver with Lyft in July of 2013 and worked his way into a role at their headquarters in customer support in April 2014. Since then, he has worked at Lyft headquarters in several capacities including market operations, competitive intelligence, and localization and translation. Zak was an integral part of the launch of Lyft’s localization program in October 2018 and moved into the role of program manager to help oversee the translation, localization, and internationalization operations at the company. He currently works at Netflix as a localization project manager for product user interface focusing on the mobile, web, and new member and new market components.
