In localization, we generally use English as the source language to render into other languages. However, for different flavors of the same language, such as Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, is there any better choice? Some companies have been exploring the feasibility of a character-to-character replacement method between these two, but the result has not been very satisfying. In this session we will share the promising result of a shallow translation between these two languages via machine translation (MT) and automatic pre/post correction.

Takeaways: Attendees will learn how to utilize an MT engine for shallow translation; how to implement the pre/post process to enhance the MT output; and how to set up the automation workflow in a workflow system.
