In this panel discussion, we will talk about how instructors teach localization in different countries, what the challenges and opportunities are in the different regions, what the main focus is depending on the region, and what their general approach to education is. Are the programs more theory-oriented in some countries? Are the programs aimed at training linguists only? Are some programs too industry-centric? Do we need a consistent approach to localization education across countries? Or does every region have their unique challenges? These and more questions will be tackled during this session. Having a look at localization programs from a global overview will help us have a more comprehensive view of how localization professionals are trained in different regions and the impact that has in the recruitment processes.
